HOW MANY PATIENTS DO YOU SERVE AT ALPINE MEDICAL CENTRE?

Here at Alpine Medical Centre our doctors see combined as many as 250 - 300 patients in a week. Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances our doctors can fall behind from time to time, if you are ever concerned if the doctor is running behind for your appointment, please feel free to call our reception and we will assist in informing you of any waiting times.

CAN WE JUST WALK IN TO SEE A DOCTOR?

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate for patients who simply just walk in to see the GP's, Specialist's or Nurse.

If you require to see a doctor for any urgent matters, please present to your nearest hospitals emergency department.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency dial 000 for emergency services or present to your nearest hospital's emergency department.

WE HAVE 'BOOK ON THE DAY' APPOINTMENTS.

Each day our doctors keep aside appointments for 'Book on the Day' times. These are for any urgent matters. Our reception staff are trained to be able to triage patients over the phone.  If you require an appointment on the day and can not see any available online, please call the clinic at 9am each day to see if you qualify for a book on the day appointment.

WHAT IF THE DOCTOR IS FULLY BOOKED?

If your preferred doctor is fully booked on the day you would like an appointment, the reception staff will offer you an alternative day, time or even doctor. If these options are still unsuitable to you, the clinic has an option for a 'CANCELLATION' list. This list starts new each day and refers to if someone calls and cancels there pre-booked appointment, staff will be able to call you and offer there appointment time to you. Please remember, that the cancellation list is a day by day list and restarts each morning. Staff will try to accommodate for all your needs and may require to triage this list. You will only receive a call if an appointment becomes available.

Currently due to our clinic being at full patient capacity, we currently are unable to accommodate for any new patients, this is reviewed monthly as once the arrival of a new practitioner, we will be able to re-introduce any new patients. Due to the Government regulations, this policy is exempt from patients wishing to receive there COVID-19 Vaccination within our clinic.

Once we are able to take on new patients, they will be welcome to book in to see either our male or female doctor. WHY DO OUR PATIENTS WAIT SO LONG TO SEE THE DOCTOR AFTER THERE BOOKED TIME?

I AM A DOCTOR by Dr Liz Azar.

More often than we would wish, doctors run late.

I'd rather be on time, get a lunch break and get home to my family but...

On the day you are diagnosed with cancer, I will run late for you.

When I tell you that your unborn baby's heart is not beating, I will run late for you.

When I realise that your injuries are consistent with domestic abuse, I will run late for you.

When during your routine appointment you disclose depression, I will run late for you.

On the day your child needs an urgent appointment for shortness of breath, I will fit you in and I will run late for you.

For these and another million reasons, doctors run late.

On the day that YOU need us, we will run late for YOU.
